Funding Procedure for Intermodal Operators Launched, Worth BGN 34.5 Million

The Ministry of Transport and Communications has launched a new funding procedure aimed at supporting intermodal operators and the development of existing terminals. The total value of the financial support amounts to BGN 34.5 million, provided under the “Transport Connectivity” Programme 2021–2027. Project proposals may be submitted until 26 September 2025.

The goal of the programme is to support operators of combined transport terminals by providing funding for the modernization and expansion of existing infrastructure. The grant for each individual project will range between BGN 1.5 million and BGN 4 million. Applicants may receive financial support from the “Transport Connectivity” Programme covering up to 50% of the eligible implementation costs.

The funding will be allocated for the purchase of new zero-emission shunting equipment, the deployment of advanced IT systems for transport management, and improvements to the railway and road infrastructure within the terminals. Investments will be directed toward all regions of the country, with the exception of the South-West Region.
