The Minister of Environment and Water Mr. Neno Dimov, the acting Mayor of Vratsa Municipality Mrs. Maria Popova and Trolleybus Transport Manager - Vratsa EOOD Mrs.Victoria Nacheva have signed an agreement for the modernization of urban transport in the municipality. 13 new electric buses and 9 new trolleybuses for public transport will be purchased with the financial means of OP Environment in Vratsa. Delivery and installation of 13 slow loading buses and one fast loading station are foreseen.
Three new agreements for the delivery of eco-friendly vehicles for the city of Sofia were signed today by The Minister of Environment and Water Mr. Neno Dimov , the acting Mayor of Sofia Municipality Mrs. Irina Savina and the Executive Directors of Sofia Electric Transport EAD and Sofia Auto Transport EAD – Mr. Evgeniy Ganchev and Mr. Slav Monov. The prjects will improve significantly the air quality in the municipality.
The Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov and Eng. Slavcho Slavkov, manager of Water Supply and Sewerage Ltd. - Kardzhali, have signed a contract for the completion and reconstruction of the water supply system and sewerage networks. The total investment is over BGN 67.8 million. The Operational Programme Environment 2014-2020 (OPE) provides a grant of over BGN 49.8 million.
The Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov, the Mayor of Rousse Plamen Stoilov and the Executive Director of Municipal Transport Rousse EAD Alexander Georgiev signed a contract for improvement of air quality through investments in ecological transport.
This is the first project under Operational Programme Environment 2014-2020 (OPE) with measures to address transport as a source of atmospheric air pollution with fine particulate matter (PM10). The total investment is BGN 46.8 million. OPE provides BGN 39 million.
The redeployment of the performance reserve on the priority axes of the Operational Programme “Transport and Transport Infrastructure”” (OPTTI) 2014-2020 is the approach which ensures that no loss of funds will be allowed and that the financial resources of the programme will be fully used.
On-the-spot check of the central section of the new Line 3 of Sofia Metro has registered high level of implementation of the project construction works
The construction of the new Line 3 of Sofia Metro is at its final stage – this has been registered by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Rosen Zhelyazkov and the Mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova, together with representatives
of the medias during the inspection of Stage 1 (the Central part) of the metro Line 3 in the capital.
Currently, two out of four stages of Line 3 of Sofia Metro are under construction – from “Vladimir Vazov” blvd. to Ovcha kupel R.D. with total length of 12 km and 12 metro-stations.

The Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov and the Mayor of Yambol Municipality Georgi Slavov signed today a contract for the construction of a composting installation. The project will build a facility with a capacity of 2 400 tons per year for the processing of separately collected green and biodegradable waste on the territory of the municipality. The facility will serve nearly 70,000 inhabitants.
The Minister of Environment and Water Neno Dimov and Angel Prestoyski, Manager of Water Supply and Sewerage Ltd. - Vratsa today signed a contract for construction of water and sewerage infrastructure. The event is also attended by the Vratsa regional governor of Malina Nikolova. The total amount of the investment is over BGN 50 million. The Operational Program "Environment 2014-2020" (OPE) provides financial support amounting to more than BGN 36.3 million.
OP "Environment 2014-2020" announced a procedure for addressing transport as a source of atmospheric pollution. The total amount of the grant is BGN 500 million.
The objective is to improve the quality of ambient air by reducing the levels of fine particulate matter and nitrogen oxides by addressing transport as a source of contamination.
