Fully renovated and put into operation today is the second largest railway station in Sofia – Poduyane station. The reconstruction of the building was carried out with European funds under Operational Programme “Transport and Transport Infrastructure”, with over BGN 2.9 million invested in the site. The railway complex Poduyane is part of the railway line Sofia-Plovdiv, which is the busiest one in the country. The number of passengers arriving and departing in this direction is about 1.4 million.

TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM THE BUDGET OF OPTTI 2014-2020 IN CONNECTION WITH THE COVID-19 EPIDEMIC

In order to direct funds to measures to overcome the negative economic consequences for the Bulgarian economy from the epidemic spread of COVID-19, the budget of Operational Programme “Transport and Transport Infrastructure” 2014-2020 (OPTTI) is changed and redirected as BFP resource under the programme.

From "Hadzhi Dimitar" to "Krasno Selo" in 15 minutes

From August 26th 2020 Sofia metro has been increased by 8 new stations and 8 km route. The section, provisionally called “Stage 1”, connects Hadzhi Dimitar and Krasno Selo districts through nodes of the central part of the capital.

The construction of Stage 1 lasted four years and various technologies had been used including “New Austrian tunnel method”, “Milanese method” and a tunnel-boring machine “Vitosha” in the process of building the complex central urban section.

From Krasno Selo to Hadzhi Dimitar – this is the route along which the new line 3 of the metro will pass. It will be put into operation on 26 August, Wednesday.

The section is 8 km long and includes 8 metro stations and passengers will travel the distance for about 15 minutes.

Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov launched the reconstruction of the railway station complex at Stara Zagora.The term for the implementation of the activities is 24 months.

The modernization of the Plovdiv–Burgas railway line directs us to the challenges of the new digital world, where human errors will be reduced to zero and the pleasure of the journey will be the main goal, not just the speed of travel. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rosen Zhelyazkov at the opening today in Belozem of the railway section Skutare-Orizovo.

EAEMDR signed a contract for delivery of specialised dredging craft

The Executive Director of the Agency for exploration and maintenance of the Danube river  eng. Pavlin Tsonev signed a contract for construction and delivery of a specialised dredging vehicle.“Damen Shipyard Gorinhem”, the Netherlands won the announced public procurement by offering a price of BGN 6 100 000 excluding VAT. According to the terms of the contract, the dredge must be delivered to Ruse within 10 months.

IMPLEMENTATION OF OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME "TRANSPORT AND TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE" 2014-2020 AS OF 30 JUNE 2020.

By the end of the first half of 2020, contracts amounting for more than BGN 2.5 billion were concluded under Operational Programme on Transport and Transport Infrastructure (OPTTI).

As of June 30, 2020 the funds actually paid were BGN 1 610 million, the verified expenses were BGN 1 385 million and the certified ones were BGN 1 344 million.

In accordance with the regulations of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, the Managing Authority of Operational Programme on “Transport and Transport Infrastructure”, 2014-2020 (OPTTI) has sent the Annual Implementation Report for 2019 to the European Commission for review and approval.  

Prior to this, the Monitoring Committee of OPTTI has approved it.

The Annual and The Final Reports for the implementation of the Operational Programme, as well as the Citizen’s Summaries, are published officially.

The Executive Agency for the Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River has signed a contract for the delivery of pipes in the framework of the Danube vessel modernisation project

A contract for the supply of sediment transport pipes has been signed by the Executive Agency for the Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River. Following a public procurement contract, a company “NBI Consortium” was selected, with a total value of BGN 745 789 excluding VAT. The
EAEMDR will use the pipelines for the transportation of silt in the course of dredging in order to improve navigability on the Bulgarian leg of the Danube River.
